"The upgrade is knowing what others don't."

The Hack: Skip the Airport Currency Exchange

Those airport currency kiosks charge 8-12% markup. Instead, use a Wise or Revolut card — they convert at the real mid-market rate with a 0.5% fee max. Order the card before your trip (free), load your currency, and tap to pay abroad.

For cash, use in-network ATMs at your destination. Wise shows fee-free ATM locations in-app. Withdraw in local currency — always decline the ATM's "conversion offer" (that's dynamic currency conversion, another 3-5% hit).

WORKS BEST FOR: International travelers

DIFFICULTY: Easy

Quick Wins

→ Google Flights price tracking misses Allegiant and Southwest. Check those directly.
→ Hotel check-in at 3pm? Ask for early check-in at booking — works ~40% of the time for free.
→ Screenshot your boarding pass. Airline apps crash at the worst possible moment.

Deal Radar

NYC → Lisbon: Historically the cheapest transatlantic route in March/April. TAP Portugal runs sales from $380 round-trip.

Pro tip: Book on Tuesday evenings for the lowest fares. Set a Google Flights alert now.

Gear Pick: Anker Nano 65W Charger

Smaller than a golf ball, charges a MacBook Pro at full speed. Replace 3 chargers with 1. The single best travel purchase under $35.
